Continuing Business Education

I do not equate success with education for I do not believe that good education can guarantee you success in your professional life and/or business ventures. I do believe however, that good education is one of the cornerstones of success.

Education does not stop when we received our college diploma. Education as professionals is continuing process. It never stops, unless you are 6 feet under. The more successful you are, the more that it necessary for you to continue educating yourself. ‘Lifetime education’ is imperative, as Peter Drucker, a prominent Quality Management guru puts it aptly:

“The growth for education and training will be in continuing adult education. Online delivery is the trigger for this growth, but the demand for lifetime education stems from profound changes in society. We live in an economy where knowledge, not buildings and machinery, is the chief resource and where knowledge-workers make up the biggest part of the work force.”

The best thing about this internet era, virtually anyone can get an online degree without leaving the comfort of their homes, or taking a leave of absence from work. Try, for example eLarners.com. They offer a host of online undergraduate and graduate degrees are fully accredited and offered by both traditional schools, Cornell, NYU, University of Michigan as well as newer institutions like University of Phoenix, Walden University and Kaplan, etc . Choose from any of their online business degrees and continue educating yourself for success.

I agree about education and it is amazing to me how much is available online to people. The internet has made such a difference.

You are absolutely right with continued education. People should never stop from learning new things and a follow up is a must if you would want to sustain continued development.

Cheers and thanks for pointing this out :)

Education is more likely to lead to your success than 'schooling'...ah, now, there's a big difference between those too:-) In fact, 'educate' derives from the Latin 'educare' which means to 'draw out'.

True education is about drawing out the natural talent, ability and wisdom that everyone of us, without exception, has. It is not about force feeding someone with information on the assumption that they have a blank mind to start with and that they learn through a transmission-reception process. Learning is a much more dynamic, interactive process than transmission.

One of my favorite quotes is by Bertrand Russell: The only time my education was interrupted was when I went to school! :-)

We are by nature,top-class learners!

Warm wishes :-) Lucy
